Our Hairstyling Program is a comprehensive, one-year learning experience with over 1,500 hours of hands on learning.

Hairstyling Program

The Hairstyling Course consists of 1,500 hours and is held at the school premises located at 1526 E. Victoria Ave, Thunder Bay, ON. The course is held between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (holidays excluded). The program utilizes the Pivot Point Scientific Approach educational system. 

 

The student must also purchase a hairstylist kit, textbooks and Pivot Point Program books. The attached list details the contents and cost of the kit, textbooks, and the Pivot Point program books. 

 

The course includes all instruction required to pass the Province of Ontario Examination for a licensed hairstylist, plus additional valuable instruction including:     

 

  • Professional Ethics

  • Bacteriology

  • Sanitation and Sterilization

  • Shampoos and Rinses

  • Hair Theory

  • Hair Sculpture

  • Hair Design

  • Braiding

  • Hair Extensions

  • Blower Styling

  • Curling Iron

  • Permanent Waving

  • Salon Management

  • Hair Straightening

  • Study of the Skin, Scalp, and Hair

  • Hair Colouring - all phases

  • Hair Chemistry

  • People Skills

  • Men's Haircutting, Barbering
     

Course Requirements

 

Previous completion of grade twelve level education (minimum requirements) or G.E.D. completion.
